Online Cloud Backup and Content Storage Solutions

We, at NewGenApps, help you in creating a reliable, affordable solution for an online cloud backup of your data – for a disaster recovery or for a secure storage of your media files to cloud that can be shared with your customers with an access control.

Amazon S3

Amazon S3 is storage for the Internet. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.

Amazon S3 provides a simple web-services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It gives any developer access to the same highly scalable, reliable, secure, fast, inexpensive infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.

Content Storage

Xiffe, an online tool for mobile app prototyping, besides proving standard controls, allows its users to upload images of their choice and use them in their app design.

When we decided to allow users to upload images to the cloud, we needed a store that is known for reliability and security. Also we needed a scalable and a highly durable store.

Amazon S3 was our de facto choice. The reasons:

  • The data uploaded to S3 Buckets was durably stored and backed by the Amazon S3 Service Level Agreement.

  • We could use their Access Control Lists (ACLs) and bucket policies for data security

  • We could create folders to group objects, and nest folders to allow segregation of data between users

  • And lastly, we could pay for what we use, there was no minimum fee

Online Cloud Backup

Songwriter’s Pad, is a song writing app for our client – Paragoni, LLC. The app was initially designed to allow songwriters to write their song lyrics, record audio and store them within the device.

As the app became popular, it needed to have a multiple device support – record from one device and access from another. There had to be a way to backup large number of songs to the cloud to clear up space on the device.

Also there had to be a way where the app customers were given a pricing model as per their cloud storage needs.

We took advantage of Amazon S3’s scalability and pay-as-you-go pricing to handle app’s growing storage needs.

The songs could be backed up to the cloud from the mobile device which helped in device interoperability.
