What Happened at the Unbound Miami?

This November 2nd and 3rd, Unbound Miami brought together founder, investors, and brand executives, all gathered to experience the best grassroot technologies and their applications in business. Chaired by Yossi Vardi and co-hosted by Mana Wynwood, the event promised presence of some of the renowned industry thought leaders including Deon Newman, VP & CMO, IBM Watson Internet of Things; Kelly Watkins - Global Head of Marketing, Slack; Don Dodge - Developer Advocate, Google Inc. and many other influencers.

The agenda included discussion on some of the most trending technologies like Bitcoins, Chatbots, Big Data etc. There was also a discussion to be led by Mr. G. Michael Lester, the NASA Kennedy Space Center Technology Transfer Partnership Manager, where he would give a brief overview of the Technology Transfer Partnership program and how to access NASA's latest patented technologies for commercial purposes.

Shaul Olmert, Co-Founder & CEO, Playbuzz led the discussion on how the content consumption habits have changed and what should brands do to overcome the new challenges. The key emphasis was on understanding the audience, creating more visual and engaging content and data-driven messaging. Case studies from real publishers and brands were showcased to further emphasize the value of engaging content and stories.

The event focused on networking and bringing together startups and investors. There were multiple startup pitch sessions and a special session organized focusing on women entrepreneurs. The Female Founders Startup Challenge saw some of the promising startups led by female entrepreneurs to compete on a global level and the winner getting access to an office space at WeWork. The visitors could download the UnboundMiami app to vote for their favorite women entrepreneur after listing all the pitches.

Franco Aquino, Co-Founder of REN Marketing LLC, shared his experience with NewGenApps on what he thought about the event. Here is the what he felt about the event:

“I attended day one of the unbound Miami tech conference as a visitor.

It was a valuable experience given the wide range of startups in attendance, from Gaming Frog, a video gaming platform that allows gamers to play against each other for prizes, to JM Studios, an augmented reality company disrupting the real estate industry.

Contributing to a great conference were the participating coworking spaces in the area (CIC, Wyncode Academy, The Lab, and Starthub) that invited attendees to their offices, and the networking event held afterward at The Wood Tavern.”

Overall the event was a remarkable success. You can check for the latest happenings and upcoming Unbound events here. Want to read more about latest technological innovations? Check out our blog.
