Apple launches ipad-mini on October 23

Technology blogs are buzzing with news of 7-inch version of the Apple’s mini iPad launched on 23rd October. Apple unveiled its iPad mini", a new tablet half the size of its existing iPad to give a tough competition to its market rivals including Amazon's Kindle Fire and Google's Nexus 7. With this mini Ipad, Apple anticipates to dominate fast-growing tablet market.

There have been rumours from quite a few months about what to expect from the iPad Mini hardware. The features of ipad mini had been kept under wraps unlike Applie iphone 5. Finally, Apple ipad mini has been launched after months of speculation and anticipation.

The new iPad mini has a 7.9 inch (20cm) display, weighs in at 0.68 pounds (0.3kg), 7.2mm (0.3 inches) thick and can easily be held in a hand. Apple’s new iPad mini possess innovative features including new FaceTime HD, iSight cameras, ultrafast wireless performance and an incredible 10 hours of battery life. It is much thinner than the fourth generation iPad which was launched at the same event. The fourth generation iPad features 9.7-inch Retina display, FaceTime HD camera, new Apple-designed A6X chip and ultrafast wireless performance. Both, iPad mini and fourth generation iPad are available with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with around 200 innovative features.

However, the price of newly launched iPad Mini may be little disappointing for potential buyers waiting anxiously for the device. The price range of iPad mini will start at $329 (£269 in the UK), against $159 for the cheapest Kindle Fire and $249 for the Nexus 7.

iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad will be sold through the Apple’s retail stores, Apple Online Store and selected Apple Authorized Resellers in the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the UK and other countries of the world.

Apple had almost captured the entire tablet market until the launch of Google's 7 in Nexus 7 tablet estimated to have sold around a million in three months during summers and the launch of the Kindle Fire, in the US in October 2011, which emerged as a strong competitor of Apple in the market.
